Experimental houses

The three experimental houses create additional spaces for the Haus der Statistik initiative’s usage program. Developed by ZUsammenKUNFT Berlin eG and AndersBauen gGmbH, new spaces for sustainable business, social learning and inclusive living are being created in ecological timber construction – directly adjacent to the new WBM buildings. Completion is planned for 2028 to 2030.

The three buildings – X1, X2 and X3 – are being planned and developed by ZUsammenKUNFT Berlin eG and AndersBauen gGmbH. They are being built in the immediate vicinity of WBM’s three-part residential development and will be realized in ecological timber construction, using reusable and dismantlable materials. The architecture reflects the usage concept: resource-conserving, open, future-oriented.

X1 – Sustainable management

This is where spaces are created for businesses oriented towards the common good, open workshops, artistic production and cooperative working models. The building offers space to actors who make concrete contributions to a socio-ecological transformation with their projects.

X2 – Social learning

X2 will be a place for education, exchange and empowerment. In addition to education-related initiatives, cultural and creative formats, workshops and events will also find a place here – from neighborhood meeting places to artistic practice.

X3 – Inclusive living and a healthy future

The third building is dedicated to inclusive, assisted and communal living. The plan is to create forms of housing that bring people with different needs together in a community of solidarity .
