House D

BIM Berliner Immobilienmanagement GmbH will be based in Building D and on the top three floors of Building A. The space has been extensively renovated and upgraded to make it energy-efficient for the future – including green roofs and photovoltaics.

BIM Berliner Immobilienmanagement GmbH, which is also a project partner in KOOP5, will move into Building D and the 7th to 10th floors in Building A.

The building structure was thoroughly modernized together with buildings A, B and C:

  • The facades and windows have been completely renovated in line with the latest energy standards.
  • The roof superstructures were removed to create space for green roofs and photovoltaic systems.
  • New stairwells and elevator systems ensure barrier-free access.
  • The building services are state of the art.

The roofs of components A, C and D will also have roof terraces, and the entire project will be certified according to the BNB “Silver” standard – the official sustainability assessment system of the federal government.

Another highlight here too: in future, the energy supply will be provided by an innovative, cold local heating network from Berliner Stadtwerke, which will provide heating and cooling by using wastewater heat. This system will be the largest of its kind in Berlin and will enable annual CO₂ savings of around 446 tons in the existing building alone.

The result is not only a functional administrative location, but also a future-oriented, climate-friendly property that actively supports the Berlin sponge city concept and sets standards for sustainable construction in the public sector.
