raumlaborberlin gründet mit der Songschreiberin und bedingungslosen Chorleiterin Bernadette La Hengst den Chor der Statistik. Angesprochen werden alle Sing-Interessierten aus Stadtgesellschaft und Nachbarschaft. Der Chor gibt dem Veränderungsprozess um das HdS eine zusätzliche Stimme. Gemeinsam schreiben und singen die Teilnehmerinnen utopische Lieder über die Zukunft der Stadt, über Nachbarschaft und den Kiez rund um das HdS. Gleichzeitig handelt es sich um eine künstlerische Form, städtische Problematiken wie Mietpreissteigerung und Verdrängung zu adressieren.
Im Frühsommer wird eine räumliche Struktur entwickelt, die die fragilen Verhältnisse zwischen Chor und Publikum unterstützt und sorgsame Raumsituationen als Mikrokosmen gegen die rohe Atmosphäre des HdS im Umbau stellt.

Wie ist die neue NOVOFLOT-Oper beschaffen, wenn eine variable Ausbreitung angekündigt wird? Flüssig oder gasförmig? Schaumig, sandig oder gummigleich gedehnt? Schwer vorherzusagen, denn NOVOFLOT tritt diesmal in einem noch kaum erforschten Raum-Zeit-Kontinuum unweit des Alexanderplatzes in Erscheinung. Dort, im Erdgeschoss eines gigantischen Gebäudekomplexes, soll es um die Frage gehen, ob die Feierlichkeiten zum 100-jährigen Jubiläum des Bauhauses nicht konsequenterweise genau dort ins Finale gehen müssten, wo der Zusammenhang von Bauen, Wohnen und Denken dieser Tage in neue Dimensionen geführt wird: im ehemaligen „Haus der Statistik“. Angeregt durch die wegweisenden Initiativen der an diesem Ort versammelten Denker*innen fasst NOVOFLOT Mut, den Zugang zu einem bisher unbetretenen Areal zu öffnen und dort nach neuartigen Formen musikalischen Erfindens zu suchen: dem „Mikrokosmos der Statistik“. Wie das gelingen könnte? Mit gedämpften Pauken und gestopften Trompeten! Mit leichtem Gerät und im Miteinander der von NOVOFLOT eingeladenen Spezialist*innen aus den Bereichen Miniraumforschung, Modellbau und Mikrogesang. „Ausbreitung variabel“ ist Musiktheater in verschobenen Relationen. Warme Kleidung empfohlen!
Vergrößerungsgläser werden nicht benötigt.

Voices – Stimmen. first recording
raumlabor launched the Statistics Choir under the direction of Bernadette La Hengst. It welcomes anyone in the neighborhood (or further flung parts of Berlin) who likes to sing. The choir is an artistic medium that literally gives voice to the processes of change underway at the HdS and, at the same time, offers a novel way to address urban issues such as rent raises and tenant displacement. Work will begin early summer, on a spatial structure that both underscores the fragile relations between the choir and the general public, and counters the raw atmosphere of the HdS construction site with microcosmic spatial situations. Several performances during Berlin Art Week are planned; and it is hoped, too, that the choir will continue to exist, long-term.
Choir rehearsals every Wednesday 6–8 pm starting on 7 August 2019.

raumlaborberlin gründet mit der Songschreiberin und bedingungslosen Chorleiterin Bernadette La Hengst den Chor der Statistik. Angesprochen werden alle Sing-Interessierten aus Stadtgesellschaft und Nachbarschaft. Der Chor gibt dem Veränderungsprozess um das HdS eine zusätzliche Stimme. Gemeinsam schreiben und singen die Teilnehmerinnen utopische Lieder über die Zukunft der Stadt, über Nachbarschaft und den Kiez rund um das HdS. Gleichzeitig handelt es sich um eine künstlerische Form, städtische Problematiken wie Mietpreissteigerung und Verdrängung zu adressieren.
