Am 14.8.2019 feiert fallingwild ein Richtfest. Am Haus der Statistik vor dem Haus A, Ecke Otto-Braun-Straße am Alexanderplatz wird ein Fassadenmodell – fallingwild – aufgestellt. Das Modell ist einerseits eine skulpturale Setzung, die als abstrahierte Musterfassade die Formsprache und das Baukastensystem des historischen Stahlbeton-Skelettbaus aufnimmt. Andererseits ist die Fassade eine Versuchsanordnung die über ein Jahr ein modifiziertes System einer reliefartigen Fassade vorschlägt, die mit Nischen, Becken und Öffnungen unterschiedlichste Formen von Behausungen für Gebäudebrüter und Wildpflanzen möglich macht.
Am Modell werden in Zukunft Führungen und Workshops stattfinden in denen gestalterische und konzeptionelle Modelle für Architektur und Stadtentwicklung vorgestellt, die nicht-menschliche Tiere als aktiv mitgestaltende Stadtakteure und Raumproduzent*innen begreifen.

Zur Berlin Art Week werden am Haus der Statistik die seit Februar 2019 geführten Videogespräche mit Expert*innen und Aktivist*innen aus den Bereichen Naturschutz, Biologie, Architektur und Urbanismus in einem Kurzfilm vorgestellt. Alle Gespräche werden im Online-Archiv fallingwild.org zugänglich gemacht und laufend ergänzt.

Topping-out ceremony fallingwild

On 14 Aug 2019 fallingwild celebrates a topping-out ceremony. A facade model – fallingwild – is erected at the Haus der Statistik in front of building A, corner Otto Braun Strasse at Alexanderplatz. On one hand, the model is a sculptural setting that takes up the formal language and modular system of the historical building as an abstract model facade. On the other hand, the facade is a test arrangement that proposes a modified system of a relief-like facade over a period of one year, which, with niches, basins and openings, makes the most diverse forms of housing possible for building breeders and wild plants.

In the future, guided tours and workshops will take place on the model in which creative and conceptual prototypes for architecture and urban development will be presented, which understand non-human animals as actively involved city actors and space producers.

During Berlin Art Week, the Haus der Statistik will present a short film featuring video conversations held since February 2019 with experts and activists from the fields of nature protection, biology, architecture and urbanistics. All conversations will be available in the online archive fallingwild.org and will be continuously updated.
