Stadterweitern LabDREI mit Katja Münker & Joshua Rutter
25. August 2020 – 29. August 2020
Katja Münker and Joshua Rutter will be combining their artistic and research practices for lab three of Stadterweitern towards a communicative field. Lab three seeks to open non-human perspectives on the city, by finding active, sensuous, and embodied ways to stimulate and diversify our relations with other organisms (in the city). We will experiment with playful adoptions of orientational and communicative strategies of other species, asking how we thereby could expand our senses for ourselves and for the city. As we experience ourselves and the things and beings around differently, we might develop another imagination of city, which might cause an alienation of the known and evoke strange or uncanny feelings. How might we open ourselves to strangeness, to uncanny sensations and creepy proximities? Somatic practices and improvisational experiments will serve as entry points to address these questions. As we engage in notation and reflection, we will carefully observe how the proposed practices, the urban context of Haus der Statistik and the posed questions respond.
